Built in 2008, 5 Courtney Way in Novato offers newer construction, excellent privacy and views, 4 bedrooms (plus large office), 2.5 baths, and 3,496 square feet of living space sited on nearly 1/2 acre. This turnkey home features a contemporary layout, fresh interior paint and carpet, a spacious kitchen with high ceilings  (open to the family room), formal dining room, living room, several outdoor patio spaces, large grassy area, Enphase solar and battery (fully owned), large 2-car garage with newly painted walls and floors, and a quiet and serene cul-de-sac location close to parks, shopping, restaurants, and freeway access. This immaculate home will charm and delight.

As you move past the covered front porch and through the formal entry with double doors, you will find a completely turnkey home. To the left is a large office with opaque glass French doors and a coat closet. To the right is the formal living room which features views of the hills, a large fireplace with stone surround and wood hearth, bar area, sconce lighting and directional art lights. This area opens to the formal dining room with lots of light. These areas also feature crown molding.

The kitchen (open concept with family room) is spectacular with high ceilings, a door to the back yard, directional and sconce lighting, a large walk-in pantry, breakfast bar, island with 5-burner range and retractable exhaust fan, Wolf double ovens, built-in microwave and refrigerator, dual basin sink with extendable faucet and tons of storage spaces.

The family room features a gas fireplace, door to the back yard, surround sound, storage closet and a second coat closet at the garage entrance. Also located adjacent to the family room, is the powder room.

Upstairs, you will find the primary suite -- simply sublime with excellent scale highlighted by the vaulted ceiling and plenty of room for a sitting area, a walk-in closet and incredible views. The primary bath is supremely private (there is no rear neighbor) with lots of windows, dual vanities, soaking tub, step-in shower and water closet. The three remaining bedrooms upstairs each have unique views and ample spaces. The shared upstairs bath features dual vanities and a shower over tub with glass enclosure. Also upstairs is the laundry closet.

The back yard has something to offer for everyone. Behind the home is a stamped concrete patio shaded by the home on hot Summer afternoons. There is also a sunny patio next to the large grassy area overlooking the valley below out to the hills in the distance. A second patio area can be found on the far side of the lawn. This private area features mature, lush landscaping with palm trees. Additionally, you will find an enclosed raised bed garden and stairs up to the swinging bench on the hill with magical sunset views to the West. 5 Courtney Way

Located in the rolling hills and valleys of northern Marin County, Novato is the second-largest community in the county. Formerly known as a gateway to the Wine Country, Novato is increasingly being discovered as a destination in its own right. The reasons: great weather, a lively downtown, and homes that provide the best value in Marin.
Upscale housing includes the luxury homes of Black Point, waterfront living on the lagoons of Bel Marin Keys, the wooded Alameda Del Prado, and Indian Valley Road and its horse-country estates.
Big-box shopping is concentrated in the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, which houses a Costco, a Target, and a Macy's Furniture, among other businesses. Downtown, a beautification program has brought new life to the businesses along Grant Avenue. The downtown area is alive with a Tuesday evening farmers market, outdoor movies, parades, and art and wine festivals.
In the '90s, military base Hamilton Field was converted to new housing and a business park. The former hangars now house cutting-edge biotech companies, digital development companies, the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, and more than 40 art studios. Novato is also headquarters of large insurance company Fireman's Fund, as well as the Buck Institute, a research organization that focuses solely on aging.
